MICROTRIP #7 CDLGP
Microtrip # 7
CAP DE LA GALLINA PELADA 2.327 m
A circular winter route through forest, gullies, and open slopes above Ensija. 13 km, +850 m, steady progression toward a fully open summit with Pedraforca and Cadí in constant proximity.
Early departure from Barcelona. Arrival near the base of the route with the day already in motion. The first section moves into dense forest, enclosed and quiet. Cold air, stable ground, no visibility beyond the immediate line. The route builds progressively. Forest gives way to narrow gullies, where the terrain becomes more defined and the direction more evident. As we gain elevation, the mountain starts to open. Light increases, space expands, and the line becomes clearer. Eventually, everything connects into the final approach—wide slopes leading to the summit of Gallina Pelada. At the top, the landscape fully reveals itself. Pedraforca close and dominant, Cadí stretching across the horizon. No obstruction, no fragmentation. Just a continuous view in all directions.
CONDITIONS
The day started around -1°C to 1°C, with cold, compact snow in the forest. Movement felt controlled and consistent. In the gullies, the snow held its structure longer, protected from direct sun. The temperature remained stable, with minimal variation. As we moved into open slopes, exposure increased. By midday, temperatures reached around 9–12°C in the sun. The surface softened, especially on southern aspects. Higher up, light wind appeared, lowering the temperature slightly but without strong impact.
The terrain shifted throughout: compact and stable in shaded forest, consistent in gullies, softer and more variable on open slopes. Nothing abrupt, but enough variation to stay engaged with each step.

Circular route
Moderate+, with a more defined progression. The effort builds gradually, especially through the middle section, before opening into a more continuous final ascent.
The route keeps changing until the very end.
Forest, then gullies, then open slopes—each section with its own pace, but all part of the same line.
On the way down, everything feels more familiar. The terrain is the same, but read differently.
No clear moment where it ends.
Just a gradual return, step by step, until the starting point comes back into view.
